What a weekend! I have just returned from a fabulous couple of days in Queensland's big backyard presenting the Expert Partner's Series workshop to an enthusiastic and creative group of early childhood educators gathered in Charleville (described by some as the metropolis of the Queensland outback) as part of the Celebrate, Inspire, Acknowledge (or C.I.A.) conference run by the PSCQ. Shortly we will be posting photos and activity ideas generated from the workshop (I finally remembered to take some photos!).
The CIA conference truly embodied its title and simultaneously nurtured and inspired playful engagement as educators with drumming, music and storytelling workshops, massage and relaxation sessions.
Just before we left for home, we had the honour of witnessing the culmination of the conference with a recording of a choral piece performed by all the conference delegates. It was just beautiful (and sounded quite melodious) to watch these dedicated early childhood professionals singing and moving as one, unified by their shared vision for the children, families and communities that they serve. It was very moving and I am looking forward to seeing the final product on video - hopefully PSCQ will make it available through their website. Keep your eyes and ears open for it - it's worth a look and listen!
